Dana Coppolino

The Golf Girl did a post recently about "the year of the dress." She wrote about how 2007 will be remembered for all the great golf dresses and skirts that started to emerge. And Golf Girl went over a few of the notable examples.

One company whose golf dresses and skirts (and other items) have been getting lots of attention in the golf press is Verdina. Now, I don't know much about women's fashion (or men's fashion, for that matter - I'm a jeans and t-shirt kinda guy), but I do know a beautiful woman when I see one.

And Dana Coppolino is a beautiful woman. Who is she? She's the CEO and founder of Verdina. Here's her capsule bio from the Verdina Web site:

Dana Coppolino, CEO and Founder of Verdina used her marketing and fashion expertise to launch this new and exciting brand. Most recently, Ms. Coppolino served as a Head Designer for Nautica. Dana began her career at Ralph Lauren after receiving both her Degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology, and her Bachelors in Marketing from Fairfield University.

Courtney Erdman

Courtney Erdman calls this her "God Bless America" photo.

Courtney just began her second season on the Futures Tour after turning pro in 2006. You can see her Futures Tour bio here.

She's a California girl, born in Hollywood. Like many gifted female golfers, she played on the boys team in high school. She played collegiately at College of the Canyons.

Her husband (sorry fellas) Kevin is a golf professional and serves as her caddie and coach.

And like the editor of Golf Babes, Courtney is a Cincinnati Reds fan. (Alas, I think our team is going to stink this year, Courtney.)

Keri Murphy

Keri Murphy is a video host with the community Web site GolfNow.tv. GolfNow.tv is sort of a supplement to GolfNow.com, which is a tee time reservation service.

Karin Kinnerud

Karin Kinnerud is one of two sophomore Swedes on the Oklahoma State University women's golf team. The other is Pernilla Lindberg, who was also a teammate of Kinnerud's on the Swedish National Team.

In her Oklahoma State biography, Kinnerud, from the city of Norrköping, lists her favorite athlete as Haile Gebreselassie. I would have guessed, based on that, that Karin was a runner prior to getting into golf. But her bio says that she played "tennis for six years and badminton for two years."

Karin won six times in Swedish Junior Tour and amateur tournaments, including the 2006 European Lady Junior Team Championship, before traveling to Oklahoma to play for the Cowboys. As a freshman, she was a Scholar All-American and second-team All-Big 12.

I think Karin is quite a beauty, so hope we'll be seeing more of her here on Golf Babes.

Paula Creamer

Fany Schaeffer

Fany Schaeffer is a Frenchwoman, born in the Reunion Islands, who plays on the Ladies European Tour. (Her sister Jade will be a rookie on the LET this year.)

Fany played collegiately at the University of South Florida and was All-American in 2003 before turning pro later that year. She has three Top 10 finishes on the LET and her best season so far was 2005 when she was 70th on the money list. See her LET profile for stats.

Christina Beltran

It sure seems there are a lot of golfers these days who also model, doesn't it? And when the golfers look like this, why not?

This is Christina Beltran, an Australian who told me she plans to visit America late in the year to play in the Futures Tour qualifying school. As of now, Christina plays on the Australian Ladies Professional Golf Tour. And just so there's no confusion, the photo above was taken during one of Christina's modeling shoots, not during one of her golf tournaments. Got it? Christina is also an accomplished graphic designer.

Tiffany Joh: "I Can Eat Six Tacos In Under 14 Minutes"

She can also be named All-American in her freshman year, win a USGA amateur championship, and tie a course record on the Ladies European Tour. She's the effervescent and very funny Tiffany Joh. Check out her interview at Waggle Room, which is where we learn of her impressive ability to put away tacos.

Kiran Matharu

We've told you a little bit about Kiran Matharu before. She was one of the top amateur golfers in Europe, winning - at age 17 - the 2006 English Ladies Amateur Championship, then later in the year played on the GB&I team in the Curtis Cup.

Kim Lewellen

It's turning into "Big Break" week here at Golf Babes. And why not, given The Golf Channel's propensity for selecting very attractive contestants. Now, if we could only find another great Ashley Prange pic, or any Ashley Gomes pic ...

Above is Kim Lewellen, who was originally a contestant on "Big Break V" and now is back for "Big Break VII: Reunion."

Kim was a back-to-back state junior champ in North Carolina and an All-Conference selection in high school playing on the boys golf team (not unusual for particularly talented junior girl golfers). She played collegiately at the University of North Carolina, earning All-America honors. She is now the women's golf coach at East Carolina University.
