Melissa Reid won for the first time on the Ladies European Tour on Sunday at the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open. It was a victory that many LET observers had been waiting on for a year or so; Reid is someone that has been expected to become a regular winner on the LET.
Reid, from Derby, England, is 22 years old. She turned pro in 2008 following an amateur career that included wins in the 2004 and 2005 English Girls' Championship, the 2006 and 2007 Helen Holm Trophy, the 2007 St. Rule Trophy and the 2007 British Amateur Strokeplay Championship, along with a Curtis Cup appearance for GB&I.
She finished second on the LET three times in 2008, and in 2009 had another runner-up plus 10 total Top 10 finishes out of 14 starts.
